Valentine's Wreath

The other day while at target I was inspired by a Valentine's wreath I saw.  It was several red and pink metal rings attached but overlapping each other and a row of felt flowers and hearts across the bottom.  I wanted to create a similar look without the cost and this is what I came up with.

I wrapped several sizes of hoop rings with red and pink ribbon.  For the outside ring I used the outer portion of the ring to use as a hook for hanging the wreath.  Then I hot glued the rings to each other.

I die cut felt flowers, layered them and attached decorative buttons for the flower centers.

Black With 2 February Challenge

Well January just flew by, but the good news is that means there is a new challenge up on the Black With 2 blog.  Check out this awesome inspiration board for February.

Here's my take on the inspiration board.

I embossed the magenta colored cardstock with my big shot since I didn't have any patterned paper that worked for this challenge, I created my own by embossing it.

Here's a closer look at the flower cluster.  Check out all the design team inspiration and more at the Black With 2 challenge blog.

Happy Friday everyone, today I wanted to share with you the Best Cleaner Ever!  This cleaner is great for all sorts of cleaning projects.  I used it recently to clean a rubber stamp.

A couple spritz of the best cleaner ever on this dirty stamp cleaned it right up.

The stamp I cleaned was purchased used from a store that was going out of business.  The Best Cleaner Ever cleaned it up quickly and easily.   For all the details check out the details over at the ScraPerfect blog.

Valentine's Printer Tray

I don't usually purchase Valentine themed paper, it's just in recent years that they have appealed to me.  But when I saw the Yours Truly line from Pebbles Inc. I just had to get it.  I love the colors and patterns from this line.  I grabbed a 6 x 6 pad of paper and inspiration soon followed.  Here's the Valentine's themed printers tray I created.

The 6 x 6 paper pads are great for a project like this.  You get the collection of coordinating papers and I don't feel like I'm wasting a lot because I'm not trimming a small piece from a 12 x 12 paper that I might not use again.  Plus the patterns are on a smaller scale so they work nicely and don't overwhelm.

Here's another look at it.  All the embellishments are from my stash.  The bottom three are chipboard elements, the hearts are covered with glimmer mist, the other two are covered with glitter.

I hope you've enjoyed this printers tray as must as I enjoyed creating it.

Happy Saturday!  Hope you are having a crafty start to your weekend.  Today I want to share with you this Quilled snowflake.  I've only quilled a few things, but I recommend trying it if you haven't before.  You can achieve some beautiful elements with some simple manipulation of strips of paper.

New Year, New Challenges!

Happy New Year!  Here's hoping that 2014 is a great year for everyone.  Why not kick it off with a great new challenge from Black With Two

If you haven't checked out the Black With Two blog recently make sure you do as it recently received an updated look to go with the all new challenges with great inspiration boards.

Here's the inspiration board for January.

Use this board for color inspiration as well as the sketch and the other elements to create a unique layout for the Black With Two challenge for January.

Here's my take on the challenge.

I stuck pretty close to the inspiration board for this one, especially since I had these beach photos to work with the suggested theme.  The flowers are cut with my cricut, then I layered them and used the Best Glue Ever to adhere glitter to the edges.  I used the same technique to write the word love and add the spots of glitter.  I used a colored pencil for the journaling.

You have until the end of the month to create a layout or card to submit to the Black With Two Challenge.
