Repurposed Frame

I love picking up great finds at garage sales throughout the summer.  You never know what little treasures you might find at bargain prices.  This past summer I found this frame at a garage sale.  The gal selling it said it was a mirror, but the mirror broke.  There was no price on it and when I asked, she said I could just have it. Can't get better than free!  I also came across a large vinyl saying, probably meant for a wall, so I picked that up for $.75.  Add some patterned paper and voila some art for your wall.  And better yet, because I didn't use the vinyl on the wall I can move it.

I attached cardstock to the cardboard backing that came with frame and then I applied the strps of patterned paper in a quilt pattern.  The paper is from the 6x6 pad from Echo Park's For The Record 2 line.  The strips are 3x6 with a 3x3 yellow piece in the middle.

The flowers were die cut using the Sizzix bigz die Flower Layers #3.  I used the remaining pieces of patterened paper and combined them in different flower stacks.  The brads in for the flower centers were made using the I-top tool by Imaginisce.  When the flowers were assembled I pinched the paper up around the brad to add dimension.

I think this will go on the wall in my craft room.

Thanks for looking ~ Michelle
