Halloween Witch Boot

I love this time of year, I love changing out the summer décor for the fall décor.  And right now in addition to fall décor I put out spooky Halloween decorations.  My daughter's and I did just that today.  So fun to see them get so excited about the handmade cheesecloth ghosts and the unfinished wood pieces they painted in years past.  I came across this Witch boot that I made last year and wanted to share it with you for a little Halloween inspiration.

This started with an unfinished wood base that I covered with purple cardstock.  Then I cut strips of patterned paper and adhered them randomly, being careful to leave some of the purple cardstock showing.

Tip: Trim strips to desired width, but longer than needed, once adhered trim the excess paper with a craft knife or scissors.

Supplies used:
Unfinished witch shoe: Craft Warehouse
Cardstock: Close To My Heart
Patterned Paper: Authentique
Alphabet stickers: Thickers (American Crafts)

Acrylic Strawberry Thank You Card

Have I mentioned I love playing with acrylic?  It adds a unique aspect to paper crafts, and you can do so much with it.  Here is a simple card with a splash of color using an acrylic card base from Close To My Heart.

I trimmed the strawberry paper a bit smaller than the actual card base and used my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper to round the edges to match the acrylic base.  The banner pieces were made from scraps of paper and I just winged it on those.  The word thanks is made using paper from Jillibean Soup's Coconut Lime Soup 6 x 6 pad. The round punch tool from Epiphany Crafts.  The letters and flower are on the outside of the card.

Family Tree Layout

Several years ago I had plans to make a wood purse.  I picked up these mini metal frames from Michael's and added black and white photos of my family to them.  The plan was to decorate the outside of the purse with the frames and some metal plates with sentiments on them.  It's became one of those projects that I never completed.  For many years I've had these picture filled frames just sitting around waiting for me to create something with them.

I came across this paper from Prima Marketing Inc.  The colors and tones were perfect to create a layout using the frames.

I layered the frames attaching some with pop up adhesive.

The letters for Family Tree were originally grey, so I used a sponge to cover with brown ink to tie it in with the paper and frames.
