Love of my Life LO and Challenge

May already? This year is just flying by. But a new month means there is a new challenge up over on the Black With 2 blog.  For me this months challenge was a bit more difficult than others because it is monochromatic.

Here's the inspiration board

And here's my take on the challenge

I chose a black and white photo from my wedding.  The half circle is a piece of acrylic that I layered with a laser cut leaf that I covered with black ink.

Be sure to check out the Black With 2 blog this month as they are announcing the new design team and there will be a lot of extra inspiration for this months challenge.

Thanks for looking!

Pure Bliss Layout

Today I wanted to share with you one of my older layouts.  I made this as part of a challenge to create a monochromatic layout.  This is actually one of my favorite layouts and it is framed and hanging in our house.

I traced a circle using a plate and layered the flowers around the picture, using the line I drew as a guide.  Then I alternated two sizes of rhinestones for the flower centers.

Supply List:
White Cardstock
Flower punch
White chipboard alphabet stickers
Clear rhinestone
Pencil
Round object (to trace circle)

Family Tree Layout

Several years ago I had plans to make a wood purse.  I picked up these mini metal frames from Michael's and added black and white photos of my family to them.  The plan was to decorate the outside of the purse with the frames and some metal plates with sentiments on them.  It's became one of those projects that I never completed.  For many years I've had these picture filled frames just sitting around waiting for me to create something with them.

I came across this paper from Prima Marketing Inc.  The colors and tones were perfect to create a layout using the frames.

I layered the frames attaching some with pop up adhesive.

The letters for Family Tree were originally grey, so I used a sponge to cover with brown ink to tie it in with the paper and frames.

Supplies used:
Patterned Paper - Prima
Metal frames - Michael's
3D letter stickers - American Crafts
Brown ink - Close To My Heart
Pop up adhesive
Glue dots
Paper trimmer
Scissors
