Happy Halloween Wall Hanging

I recently came across this cute unfinished wood wall hanging that says Happy Halloween.  For five bucks I couldn't pass it up as I knew it would be perfect for some of my Halloween Zappy Dots.  I also found some fun Halloween paper from Doodlebug Designs that work perfectly with the Zappy Dots.

I painted the edges and base with black acrylic paint before covering with this fun chevron paper.

Here are close ups of all the Zappy Dots used from the Too Cute To Spook flair button set.

Love this ghost / Boo Flair button.

A fun curly cue pumpkin!  The sign is larger than 12 x 12 so I covered one side with the patterned paper and then lined up a second sheet so the patterns matched as best as possible.

In real life I have a huge fear of spiders, but this guy is super cute!

And Halloween would not be complete without a black cat.  How cute is that heart shaped nose.

After I adhered the paper I cut around the excess paper with a craft knife, you could also trace an outline and cut it out before you adhere it.

Halloween Witch Boot

I love this time of year, I love changing out the summer décor for the fall décor.  And right now in addition to fall décor I put out spooky Halloween decorations.  My daughter's and I did just that today.  So fun to see them get so excited about the handmade cheesecloth ghosts and the unfinished wood pieces they painted in years past.  I came across this Witch boot that I made last year and wanted to share it with you for a little Halloween inspiration.

This started with an unfinished wood base that I covered with purple cardstock.  Then I cut strips of patterned paper and adhered them randomly, being careful to leave some of the purple cardstock showing.

Tip: Trim strips to desired width, but longer than needed, once adhered trim the excess paper with a craft knife or scissors.

Supplies used:
Unfinished witch shoe: Craft Warehouse
Cardstock: Close To My Heart
Patterned Paper: Authentique
Alphabet stickers: Thickers (American Crafts)

Zappy Dots Fall Leaves Burlap Swag

Don't forget to hop along the Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop, today is day 4 of the hop.  Today I want to share with you another project using the fall leaves flair buttons from Zappy Dots.

These colors work really well with burlap as shown here on the burlap envelopes I created with the same set of Zappy Dots and the same flower sprig.  You could make a little gift tag and this swag would make a lovely gift with a tag received in the making burlap envelope.

Here are a few close ups of the Zappy Dots, fall leaves flair buttons.

The burlap is about 4" wide and just twisted, then I hot glued everything to it and tied off the ends.

Zappy Dots Fall Leaves Burlap Envelopes

Good Morning, today I wanted to share with you a simple project I made using a few supplies.  You'll need fall leave Zappy Dots, some premade burlap envelopes, and a fall flower sprig, a pair a pliers and a hot glue gun.

I found these little premade burlap envelopes and new they would be perfect for a fall project.  They are the perfect size for a gift card and really could be used in a variety of ways.

For these I purchased a sprig of flowers in fall colors that worked with the fall leave Zappy Dots.  Using my pliers or wire cutters I cut down the sprig into pieces that fit nicely on the burlap.  Then I layered a Zappy Dot on top and attached everything with hot glue.

Tip: I placed a piece of wax paper under the flap of the envelope so it would not seal when I attached my Zappy Dot and flowers.

Black With 2 - October Challenge

The October color palette for Black With Two is up today.  Black with candy pink and shimmering gold.  It is a lovely palette and would be great for a wedding or prom layout.

Since this layout is for October and one of the colors is pink, I felt it only fitting to create a layout in honor of Breast cancer awareness and my strong Mother in Law whom is a two time survivor.

I'm not a big fan of gold, but I did happen across some gold Thickers that I was able to use for the Survivor title.

Here is a close up of the ribbon details.

You have a whole month for this challenge so I hope you come play along.  This is open to US residents and there are some great prizes up for grabs.
